Prayer
The day officially begins at 9:00 a.m. with prayer. The truth that God invites His people to come to Him with our thanksgiving & praise as well as our needs is a privilege we cherish. Faith in God and love for one another compels us to pray.
Sunday School
A vital part of our growth in the knowledge and understanding of God’s Word begins at 9:30 a.m. Our children (three years old through 6th grade) study the Bible in a systematic way so that every three years, they have covered the Old Testament historical books, the life of Jesus Christ, and lessons from the books of Acts and Revelation. The curriculum teaches them the sweeping picture of God’s eternal plan of salvation from one cover of the Bible to the other! The rest of us (Jr. High through adults) meet in the Celebration Café. This is always a challenging and inspirational time as we continue to dig deeply into the treasure of God’s Word. We seek personal transformation and the ability to communicate the Gospel to everyone who asks us for the hope that we have.
The Sunday Celebration
Songs of praise and worship focus our attention on Christ and prepare us to receive God’s Word. A time of prayer is always offered for the needs of the people in our church, our loved ones who are not, and for God’s will to be accomplished in our world. Often times we read a passage of the Bible together. It unites us as we together declare the glory of God and it increases our faith as we speak and hear eternal truths. The heart of our service is hearing a message from the Bible. Pastor Mike considers biblical preaching a sacred trust which he does not take lightly. Through prayer, study and reliance upon the Spirit of God, our pastor brings a message that points us to the glory of Christ and offers practical application to young and old alike. The sermons are presented in an expositional way—meaning the Bible is taught verse by verse so that we are sure to understand what God is saying in its proper context and in its fullness. We believe that when God’s Word is faithfully proclaimed, God’s voice is truly heard.
Sunday Evenings
Sunday evenings are reserved for special gatherings. A men’s group meets once per month for dinner and conversation around the Word of God. The women do this also one Sunday evening per month. Other Sundays we meet for special events that focus on creating fun memories for the whole church family or to join hands to help someone who may need assistance to meet a practical need. On other Sunday evenings parents gather to learn and be encouraged in their greatest mission before them— to lead their children to Christ!
